Vinyl InteriorThis 1949 Chevrolet 3800 Flat Bed truck is for sale in our Louisville Ky Showroom. Chevrolet's new truck series were GM's first new post-war vehicles, as well as America's first new post-war trucks. The 'Advance Style' trucks, with integrated headlights and larger cab, started an industry trend, and the switch from horizontal to vertical front grille set Chevy's trucks apart from all others on the road. Soon all truck builders were redesigning their cabs for three-person seating and more comfort. Advance Design trucks were offered in different several models, identified by a four-digit number displayed on both sides of the hood. Half-ton trucks were 3100 series, with 3/4-ton trucks getting a 3600 designation and 1 ton trucks having the 3800 designation. This beauty is powered by a 235 Cubic Inch Inline 6-cylinder engine. The engine is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission that finishes out with a heavy-duty rear end with dual tires. The dual tires allow for heavier loads by displacing the load over two tires versus one on each side. The Truck has been meticulously restored by the nephew of the original owner. A labor of love here as the family worked together to bring back a piece of history and fond family memories. The dark green paint (color code 93-62006) is in very good shape. Inside the truck is simple with only a vinyl bench seat and the necessary controls to operate the truck.
