Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 2005 Mercedes Benz SLK 350 AMG 6 speed

This 350SLK AMG is a prime example of a Mercedes Benz redesign aimed at performance.

In 2005 Mercedes Benz completely redesigned the SLK for one reason, to create real competition with Honda S2000s and Porsche Boxters.

The redesign included a new engine, new chassis, and new redesigned aesthetics.

The new front end featured a shaved hood line, new teardrop headlights, and Formula 1 tribute in the grill. The SLK platform was put through many wind tunnel test to ensure the least amount of wind resistance possible thereby reducing drag compared to the previous 8 year old design.

Mercedes added an extra inch to the wheelbase, 3 inches to the width of the vehicle, and 3 inches to the height of the car making the vehicle much more aggressive and planted while enthusiastically driving.

The new 258 lb. Ft torque engine design was better for emissions and fuel economy, especially with the company's cylinder-deactivation system and variable valve timing, offering 20-23mpg.

Benz offered a more performance aimed option with 6 Speed transmission. The six speed trans was a rare option, and when paired to this new generation 268-hp DOHC 24-valve 3.5-liter V-6, you felt every inch of this short-legged runner.

The redesign also carried over to steering and suspension as well, as the control arms were ditched for a friction free rack and pinion, allowing the SLK to carve corners happily.

This SILVER METALLIC, dual exhaust, black interior AMG has been serviced from the previous owner for the past 3 years; including fixing the A/C system, the secondary Air Pump to pass Smog, and having only being driven an estimated 2000-3000 miles the past few years.

You can rest assured this AMG will get you where you need to go with a smile on your face.
