ASC, American Sunroof Corporation, produced several versions of Mercury Capris from 1984 to 1986. The convertible version was a marketing experiment to see if American muscle could be polished to compete with European 2 seaters like the Mercedes SL and Jaguar XJS. With their convertible expertise, ASC designed and fabricated a slick and easy to use soft top that folded down underneath a hard tonneau cover giving the car a very premium look. ASC McLaren made mechanical upgrades as well including a high performance camshaft in the 5.0L V8 and shorter gearing that made it one of the quickest cars offered by Ford Motor Company. This example still shines brightly in it's Porsche sourced red paint job and has an exotic air with it's tan leather and soft top. With less than 40,000 miles on the odometer this American Exotic is ready for it's next loving owner.
