First developed by Renzo Rivolt's highly successful Iso S.p.A in Italy and license-built in several countries, the Isetta, Italian for little Iso, was primarily intended to provide economical and practical transportation for the masses. However, it also enjoys a largely unheralded racing heritage, gained in 1954 when a trio of Iso works Isettas swept the podium in the economy class at the storied Mille Miglia. While small in size, the Isetta's influence was large, helping save BMW from being taken over by Mercedes Benz, it's much larger rival, during the late 1950s.
Finished in red, this rare BMW Isetta is an improved sliding-window, 298 cc variant with a 4 speed manual transmission from 1958 equipped with a delightful canvas sunroof. This Isetta has only 13,463 miles on the original numbers matching engine and transmission. This Isetta was in a collection for ten years before being purchased by the new owner. The pain is new and this vehicle has been detailed and is ready to be in your garage as part of your collection!
