How awesome would it be if delivery trucks today looked as good as this 1937 Chevrolet 3-window Pickup truck? Imagine the local delivery guy pulling up in something like this, how much better would the roadways of America be? The fact that the original shape still looks great after all these years means that this awesome rod was already hitting a lot of high notes well before the work even started.

There's obviously a great deal of time and money wrapped up in this gorgeous Pickup truck, because it wasn't until fairly recently that these trucks were anything but an interesting footnote in automotive history. But for a unique hauler for people or gear, there are few finer than this. The bright paint is two-stage urethane from PPG and looks spectacular on the vintage curves, giving it both a traditional and a custom look. Bodywork is quite impressive, with both the doors and the side-opening hood fitting nicely and all that sheetmetal carefully blocked so that the finish would be even and straight. In the mid-1930s, as the U. S. economy began to recover from the Great Depression, Chevrolet pushed for leadership in a reviving truck market with what were designed to be some of the most robust, most innovative models produced to that point. In 1937, Chevrolet introduced new trucks with streamlined styling that many still consider among the most stylish designs of the era. The '37 also featured a sturdier body and a larger and more powerful 78-hp engine, among other improvements. This particular Chevy has more than 78 horsepower. A lot more! Chevrolet redesigned their half ton Pickup for 1937, in an effort to entice new buyers and convince them of value that pickups had for personal use. This redesign was such a hit, that it eventually became the longest running bodystyle of truck that Chevy ever had. Not only was the -37 Chevy truck a huge success as an original, but this Restomod -37 is sure to be a hit as well. This sweet build started with the original body metal, which was then painted a stunning silver on silver. Under the bed cover lies the icing on the cake: a bed with beautifully burled wood plank. This deep red beauty is powered by a small block Chevrolet V8, backed by a GM TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, shifted by a Lokar shifter. The 350 is equipped with HEI ignition, a 4BBL carb, iron exhaust manifolds and a true dual exhaust system, so getting on the freeway to drive to that car meet across town is a piece of cake.
