Probably not too many. 1942s were the last Chevrolets built before World War II and not many slipped off the assembly lines before production halted in early '42. In addition to being a rare car, this rod has been highly customized to make an ultra cool cruiser. Powering this custom is a 468 CID Chevrolet Big Block. Backing the power plant is a 350 Turbo transmission and 9' Ford rear end with a 2. 92 gear ratio. 1942 models got blackout trim in January. The Signal-Seeking radio became an option. On February 1, 1942, civilian automobile production halted for war production. Now normally you would seen this in a mild color with alot of chrome, as you can tell, different motive on this one. The chassis is decked out with a Mustang II independent front suspension. Accompanying the updated front end and replacing the old beat up drums are fresh disk brake. A 9' Ford rear helps keep the power coming out of 305ci v8 planted to the ground. Backing that is a turbo 350 3 speed automatic transmission. Lathered in sun grape metallic purple it makes for a true head turner.
