After World War II Chevrolet was looking to revitalize their aging AK Series of trucks and brought the new Advance Design to the market. The Advance Design series brought forth a new look that was well received and sales were strong. This series would see production from 1947-1955. Here we have a '50 model, and wow is she a beauty. This Chevy is one of the highest modified and cleanly built trucks we have ever had here! In the late owner's words, he wanted to be able to drive at 70mph and have the ride and steerability of a luxury car and be able to win some car shows. Avery's Paint and Body Shop was selected since a car painted by John Avery won a large local show. And so a frame off restoration began and brings what you now see in these images.
The Porsche Guards Red paint looks terrific and has a lot of depth to protect it with 5 coats of paint and 4 layers of clear on top! Was stripped to bare metal, repaired where needed and primered, block sanded, sealed, and painted. And even then was color sanded, buffed with 2 compounds and hand waxed. The...
