Pontiac shared the F-Body platform with its cousin Chevrolet with their Firebird. The first generation offered the same Coke-Bottle shape as the Camaro, but with more dramatic front and rear bumpers. A basic Firebird came with an Inline 6 with a single barrel carb, with higher performance models sporting a 400 CID V8 with Ram Air induction.
