A very rare find, this two-owner convertible features a number's matching drive-train (400CI V8 and 400 Automatic Transmission) with only 15k miles since it's been professionally rebuilt! It has power steering, power brakes, am radio, deluxe interior, console, remote mirror, special order exterior paint, posi-traction differential, with a manual top mechanism. Most recent upgrades include: new wheels and tires, tune-up, points, plugs, condenser, distributor cap, rotor, plug wires, carburetor overhaul, alignment, new front wheel bearings, new door panels, new fuel pump and fuel filters, brake adjustment and brake fluid flush, new headlights, new front and rear shocks, wipers, new radiator and heater hoses washer bottle, battery, engine oil and filter, replaced power steering fluid differential fluid, chock coil, and some weather-strips replaced.

The Pontiac Firebird was introduced in 1967 and intended to compete with the Ford Mustang. The name -Firebird- actually dates back to several GM concept car designs from the 1950-s. The 1967 Firebird shared many styling cues with it-s cousin, the Chevrolet Camaro, although the Firebird-s bumpers were integrated into the design of the front end. Base models came equipped with a 230 ci inline-six engine although most buyers opted for one of three V8 options. The top of the line was a 400 cid monster shared with the Pontiac GTO and rated at 325 horsepower. This Black Cherry 1967 Pontiac Firebird features a replacement 400 V8 mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The owner reports 3,000 miles since the rebuild. This Firebird definitely breaks the mold of what is typically seen. Normally, one would expect to find a 400 cubic inch Pontiac V8. On this example, however, the seller opted to have a built 350 small block Chevy dropped in its place. Having been slightly warmed over, including pumping up displacement to a healthy 355 cubic inches, this baby is a screamer! Making this --Bird even more fun is the 4-speed manual transmission, giving total control of the acceleration of this beast to the driver.

Rounding out the performance is plenty of style.
