Following the immediate success of the Mach 1 model upon its introduction in 1969, it replaced the Mustang GT outright in 1970. The Mach 1 was only made available in the Fastback body style and received several cosmetic and performance-oriented upgrades such as 'Mach 1' on the rocker panels, a honeycomb rear panel, a black-striped hood with a functional scoop, competition suspension, deluxe interior, rear deck spoiler, and rear 'Sport Slats' on the back window. The Calypso Coral is a great color that gives you the same boldness as red, but a rarity from only being offered on the Mustang for a few select years.
