1971 Volvo P1800

View Description

Jointly designed by both Volvo and Jensen Motors, most known for their 'Jensen Interceptor' which still carries an immense cult following. The Volvo P1800 is a brilliant showing of top-notch safety, unbelievable engineering qualities and of course, an amazing car to take on any length of drive. The Volvo P1800 comes packing the famous B20 Motor, which when fueled by twin SU Carburetors makes an impressive 100 horsepower, which when coupled with the 4-speed manual transmission, makes for a very fun drive. The Volvo P1800 had received a major publicity boost in the early 60's when a white 1962 Volvo P1800 was driven by Simon Templar, played by Roger Moore, and it was featured prominently in the hit TV series The Saint beginning that year and throughout the entire run of the show. Roger Moore was reportedly so smitten with the Volvo P1800 that he bought one for his own personal use. Volvos are known for being overbuilt high quality automobiles, and one owner proved that fact very well. A gentleman in New York owns a 1966 1800S which has covered over 3,000,000 miles! The gentleman claims the reason the car has stood the test of time is that he always used Volvo parts and kept the vehicle 100% stock. This speaks volumes for Volvo's build quality. This particular -71 P1800 E for sale is certainly no exception and could easily be driven daily. The fuel injected 1800E features a 2. 0 Liter OHV 'B20E' engine. The 4 cylinder engine is backed by a...
