1975 would make for very sad year in the Corvette world as the Father of the Corvette, Zora Arkus-Duntove, would retire this year. The chief engineer since the beginning he was an instrumental part of making the Corvette a world renowned race winning Machine. Beginning life in 1953 as a little two seater with a 235 cubic inch 6 cylinder it looked as if it would not make it past the first two years. With dismal performance not only on the road but as well as sales the future appeared bleak for the little two seater. All of that would change in 56 with the introduction of GM's all new V8. Backed up by a 3 speed manual transmission it turned the vette into a bonafied sports car. This 1975 Stingray is a great example of how far the little two seater had come in just 22 years.
