Toyota started production of the Land Cruiser FJ40 in 1960 and began importing them to the US in 1963. The last US-bound FJ rolled off the line in 1983, making a brief comeback as a modern SUV in the US called the FJ Cruiser from 2006 to 2014. From 1963 to 1983 the FJ40 saw little change aesthetically, the only real changes were improvements in technology mechanically.
