Chevrolet built the 454SS for just four model years, initially arriving on the market in late 1989 as a 1990 model, and sunsetting in 1993. Roughly 80 percent of the approximately 17,000 of the trucks were produced for the 1990 model year, which makes the remaining years' models increasingly rarer.
