Affectionately known as the 'Humpster' due to its humped front fender arches, this 1974 AMC Javelin is the perfect way to one-up all of the Mustangs and Camaros at a local car show. It doesn't get any better than this muscle car either as it has been perfectly maintained over the years with the iconic body painted in Snow White with classic side stripes, a vinyl top and a chrome luggage rack on the trunk lid. Under the long hood sits a 360 CID 2V V8, which has been dressed up with a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner, and it is mated to a 3-Speed automatic with a console-mounted shifter. AMX had always had kind of a reputation for producing muscle cars with an outside of the box mentality in mind. The Javelin was styled by Dick Teague and assembled in various plants around the world including our very own Kenosha, WI (where Gateway Classic Cars of Milwaukee is actually located). The Javelin was produced as being competition to other branded sports cars of the era like the Barracuda, Camaro, and the Mustang, but with the distinction of this car being longer and roomier. This AMX comes in a very recognizable shade of green that will be sure to spark many conversations and nostalgia at the local car show. This Javelin originally came with a 304 cubic inch V8 but that was replaced with a 360 V8 which has been rebuilt featuring 9:1 compression, a Thumpr camshaft courtesy of Comp Cams with a 274 degree duration, Edelbrock intake manifold, longtube headers, and an Edelbrock AVS 650cfm carburetor. The motor transfers its vigorous energy through a 3000 rpm stall into an A998 automatic transmission which was just rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago. This Javelin is equipped with a smooth running 401ci V8 and backed by an automatic transmission. It starts right up, and it runs and drives very good down the road. It has a brand new battery and fuel pump. It still has all of the factory emissions equipment under the hood. The whitewall tires are older but have good tread plus it has the factory spoke mag wheels!

The 'groovy' interior is so very 1970's! It was added sometime ago but a complete Pierre Cardin interior is a very rare find indeed and especially one found that is complete! The bucket seats, rear bench and headliner are all clean and the matching door panels look great also! The dashboard and sunvisors are nice and damage free. The factory AM push button radio has nice sound and even the seatbelt dash lamp and buzzer works! It also has adjust-o-tilt steering along with the optional sport steering wheel. It also is equipped with the visibility group also.
