The popularity of the Grand National peaked by 1987, and this car is one of the 20,740 built for the model year. A 4. 9 second 0-60 run doesn't sound much by today's standards, but we are talking an era where Corvettes, Mustangs and even the Lamborghini Countach were not sub-5 second cars. All Grand Nationals were painted in Black and this one comes with Gray cloth interior too. Factory options according to the original sales sheet we have on this car included power windows, power door locks, power seats, electric trunk release, cruise control and an AM/FM stereo with cassette and equalizer. Now onto that famous 3. 8l Turbocharged Sequential Fuel Injected V6 engine: an intercooler for the Turbo was added in '86 along with a two-piece aluminum intake manifold that increased airflow by 10%. The result was 245hp and 355lb ft of torque from the factory. This example has had some further modifications done including a roller cam, forged pistons and pocket porting heads boosting that horsepower number even higher.
