Let me start out by saying this is one of the nicest and well preserved Cadillac Convertibles we have come across and if you only desire the best in Antique and Classic cars this one deserves a second look. One thing that makes this Caddy really unique is that it was purchased by the current owner in September of 1978 and has been lovingly cared for all of these years. The original shade of Apollow Yellow was refreshed and looks amazing. At the time of repaint the car was stripped to bare metal and this car has amazingly straight panels and very nice body fit. The Air conditioning compressor was recently replaced and the system blows nice and cold even on the hottest of days.

The interior of this car has been as well kept as the rest of the car and features glove-soft leather finished in white with black accents and even the driver-s side door arm rest is in very nice condition. Cadillac has always been known for leading the way in the American made luxury car market and has done so since its beginning in 1902. Going through somewhat of a slump in the late 90's a brand overhaul was ordered by parent company GM. Feeling that Cadillac had become a car that could only be found in retirement community's they gave every and all Cadillac's a serious face lift. The XLR was more than a facelift it was a whole new line of car. The idea and even the execution of a 2 door convertible were not new to Cadillac. They had built them in the past, but a convertible hardtop, that was actually built by Mercedes to be used on top of a C6 Chassis, that was unheard of. The new body would be more aggressive and cutting edge than anything Cadillac had done before. This XLR is a great example of those early runs and with only 15000 being built over an 8 year span there is no reason why these should not begin to start gaining value.
