Cadillac has always been known for leading the way in the American made luxury car market and has done so since its beginning in 1902. Going through somewhat of a slump in the late '90s a brand overhaul was ordered by parent company GM. Feeling that Cadillac had become a car that could only be found in retirement community's they gave all Cadillac's a serious facelift. The XLR was more than a facelift it was a whole new line of the car. The idea and even the execution of a 2-door convertible were not new to Cadillac. They had built them in the past, but a convertible hardtop, that was actually built by Mercedes to be used on top of a C6 Chassis, that was unheard of. The new body would be more aggressive and cutting edge than anything Cadillac had done before. This XLR is a great example of those early runs and with only 15000 being built over an 8-year span there is no reason why these should not begin to start gaining value.
