2013 Cadillac CTS-V
View Description
Rare? Yes, according to CarAndDriver(dot)com-s Feb 2013 blurb: --In standard guise, the CTS-V coupe is a pretty sinister-looking piece of big-hipped muscle Machine, but current design dogma dictates that for maximum mean, a car needs matte-finished paint. So Cadillac hath giveth the CTS-V coupe a dull-paint option in the form of this Silver Frost edition. The icy finish is achieved through lower-gloss clearcoat, which is applied over regular metallic-silver paint. Cadillac says that in direct light, the paint still will glitter somewhat, but the effect will be muted. Besides the fancy paint, the Silver Frost edition offers buyers the same 556-hp, supercharged 6. 2-liter V-8 engine, a choice of yellow or red brake calipers, and either polished or satin graphite wheels. It also gives Cadillac a unique CTS that-s curiously close-'both in name and concept-'to BMW-s Frozen series of matte-finished M3s. Just 100 examples will be built, and buyers will be able to get their hands on one beginning this March. - Not only that, but the Silver Frost paint was a $4000 factory paint upgrade option. You-ll not find another like it soon! So, if one of 100 made is rare, then this one is rare just by THAT standard....
