I can't boast about this one enough. It certainly shares Cadillacs eight generations of elegance. The exterior is Cadillac's Royal Blue (Black Sapphire) with a half vinyl roof the interior boasts very nice gray leather seats and cabin with all the accommodations you have come to expect from Cadillac. In 1985 Caddy switched to the FWD C body platform making it a little shorter than prior generations. First introduced in 1940 as the Series Sixty-Two was one of many models Cadillac brought to the market to appeal to various segments. The Deville would start as a trim level of the Series 62. The Series 62 would see 7 generations up until the early 60s. The Deville was segmented as its own model in 1959 and would see 8 generations of its own up until 2005. This model is a '56 Deluxe Sedan Deville and is an eye catcher! The Pink paint with the white roof coupled with the chrome bumpers and trim really stand apart. She is not without her blemishes but she is a nice driver. The black leather interior looks sharp in contrast and is in good order. Run your hands around the wheel and take in the iconic dash and you are swept back in time. Under the hood is a rebuilt 365ci V8 backed by a rebuilt Hydromatic Transmission. Chrome and fins, there's no mistaking this Cadillac. It looks like a rock star from any angle and it's one of those rare old cars where nobody will ever ask, 'Hey, what is that? ' because it's so obviously a Cadillac. It appears to be a largely original car and man does it look good cruising down the street! The refreshed white paint is holding up well, so it looks spectacular in the sun without being too showy. Instead, it's a paragon of good taste and stylish tailoring; just look at the crease that pulls off of the headlights, and the way the roof shows just a hint of angularity. It doesn't look to have ever required major surgery (man those are some level quarter panels! ) and all the panels fit quite well. And yes, it's a Cadillac, so chrome is a factor, with most of it being original stuff that's in above-average condition. In 1964, it was time for another facelift to the De Ville series, this was a very minor one though. They decided to have a bi-angular grille that formed a V-Shape along both its vertical and horizontal planes. The main horizontal grille bar, now carried itself around the body sides as well.
