The MGB was produced by the British Motor Corporation and later under the British Leyland Corporation from 1962-1980 with this example being the final production year model.
The MGB was unique for being the first car to be made utilizing a unitary body design compared to the body on frame design in use at the time. This helped keep weight down and strength high in body rigidity. It featured standard roll up windows a comfortable cockpit with plenty of leg room. It was also the first model to incorporate body crumple zones.
Its powered by an inline 1798cc inline four cylinder producing 85hp and 110 ft lbs mated up to a 4 speed syncro-meshed manual trans. Fuel is delivered through a British Made Zenith Carb siting on a combined intake / exhaust manifold. The peppy little power plant was able to yield 25 mpg overall while delivering a spirited ride. Up front were power assisted 11' two piston disc brakes and drums in the rear while riding on 185 70 R14 tires.
