The 'Nova' nameplate was manufactured from 1962-1979, and 1985-1988. This first- generation Nova was produced from 1961-1965. Taking on many body styles including two-doors, four-doors, station wagons and convertibles. It was built on a semi-unibody cabin and trunk bolted to a framed front section. In 1963 the 'SS' model was introduced with special features including a floor shifter, SS badging, unique instrument package, bucket seats, side molding, and SS wheel covers. Interestingly, a V-8 option was not available for the Nova until 1964. Eight-cylinder engine swaps by owners were commonplace, however. This 1963 Nova SS convertible is painted in pearl white with ghost flames running up the hood and the side panels. American racing alloy wheels add to the sporty looks.
