The C5 Corvette was a radical change from the previous generation. Gone were the shakes and rattles of the C4 that had plagued the reputation of the C4 Vette. With its hydroformed box frame the transmission had been moved to the rear of the car giving it almost perfect weight distribution. It also allowed the seats to come up out of the frame rails giving it a much better seating position.
