The 1995 convertible was chosen as the pace car for the Indy 500. New 'gills' on the front fender distinguished the 1995 from other C4s. Updated windshield wipers were included to reduce chatter and lift and high speeds. The torque converter was made both lighter and stronger and the automatic transmission was redesigned to improve shifting. Previously optional, larger brake packages were made standard and included the latest anti-lock brake and traction control systems. Technology itself does not make a great sports car.
