1938 was not such a great year for Chevrolet. Sales were hurting with an estimated 43% downturn from the year before, it looked like they may have been a little too aggressive on pricing raising them 4. 5% in the middle of a recession is arguably not a very smart thing to do. Styling however was going great for the Chevy brand that had brought in Pontiac's designer Franklin Hershey. Even to this day the 38's are sought after for their smooth and flowing lines which lend themselves nicely to Streetrod. This 38 has been given the classic Streetrod treatment. Under the hood is a great sounding and running 305 that gives this all steel rod plenty of power. Transferring the power to a TH350 transmission this rod is all about reliability. Outback a rear end from a 69 Camaro with a set of 3. 23 gears was installed giving it the best of both worlds, low end acceleration but can still cruise down the highway without winding out that 305.
