The engine was donated from a Roush Mustang and the supercharger was removed to keep things under control, in some cases, when you have wood body panels, there is a such thing as too much horsepower. 1942 was the final model year for Detroit automakers before ceasing civilian production for the war effort making this Woody very rare! Just walking up to this Woody you can tell the painstaking effort put into making this Woody as nice as it is. The wood was recently stripped, repaired in places and refinished to it's gleaming state you see now. The metal body panels are painted in Village Green and the black vinyl roof really ties it all together. The stance of this Woody is grounded by a set of 20 inch chrome wheels that show off the 4 wheel disc brakes. The interior has a factory appearance with butterscotch materials abound and bench vinyl seats. Look up and admire the wood ceiling! This Woody has been through a very long restoration. It has been painted Cloud Mist Gray that goes great with the wood trim, that is from maple trees grown in Michigan. The vinyl roof is period correct and is the cherry on top. Back in the 40's the most you could get out of the Ford's 3. 9 liter L Head V8 was 95hp. It's no surprise that in this day and age, that engine had to go. In its place sits a 327 cubic inch, 325hp V8 out of a 66 Corvette. A 200R4 automatic transmission with overdrive has been fitted with a shift kit to enhance the driving experience!
