The Mercury Cougar was introduced in 1967 as an upscale version of the Ford Mustang which was built on the same platform and shared similar power train options. The Mercury Cougar was redesigned with a heavier body styling in 1971 which gave it a much classier look compared to earlier models. A boldly prominent center grille and exposed headlights were the features of the new frontal appearance. This 1971 Cougar is powered by the ever popular 351 Cleveland V8 which is known for the huge amount of torque that they produce and with this particular engine only have around 2,500 miles since it was rebuilt definitely has plenty of power. The exterior of this Cougar is stunning with a fresh coat of Midnight Blue high gloss paint that is a perfect match to the black automatic convertible top and black interior.
