The public was looking for a new type of truck that was still utilitarian but provided daily driver comforts. The F1 series was also, at the time, the first Ford pickup to use its own specific frame. This particular 1949 body is said to have been removed from the frame for an extensive custom build that included new interior and exterior touches.
