This gorgeous '40 Ford is an all steel body car that is powered by a 5. 0 L motor from a 1985 Mustang and pushed by a Tremec T-5 5-speed manual transmission, and backed by a Ford 9' rear end with 3. 55 gears! On this built 5. 0 is an Edelbrock RPM Airgap intake and 600 cfm carburetor, Ford Performance E303 cam and valve springs, Hooker headers, stainless steel exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers, Be-Cool radiator, and Edelbrock high performance aluminum water pump. The Terlingua Racing Team was named after a small community in Texas that Carrol Shelby and some close friends bought so they would have a place to go and blow off steam. Eventually Neale would draw up a logo that was placed on Shelby-s first ever GT350r right before its first race. As history has it that car would go on to win that first race and the emblem found its own place in the record books. This example is a great replica of what you would have seen racing in the SCCA Tran Am series of the day. The yellow paint is probably nicer than any of those race cars as it calls out for your attention. The stickers on the car are all classic 60-s and even has Shelby listed as social director which he actually was in Terlingua. Built with simplicity in mind, this 1950 Ford F1 is equipped with only the essentials but did not have any expense spared during the process. The heart and soul of this pick up is a completely rebuilt 1950 Ford flathead V8 bored. 60 over and roughly 1,500 miles since completion. The lope at idle provided by the Comp Cams Thumpr (#41-600-7) is the only music you will need on your ride and is very distinguishable sound. Also equipped is Offenhauser pistons, Mahle rings, Isky valve spring, and Ford rods, crank and block. Hooked up behind the flathead is a 3-speed manual transmission rebuilt at the same time as the engine and shifts smoothly between gears. The cab of the truck is still the 1950 Ford F1 but has been heavily modified to give it the much sleeker look it has now. 6- of the top were sliced out to bring the profile lower and was moved 18- further back on the frame allowing it to run without fenders.
