This great 54 F250 is certainly a rare sight in any of our showrooms. Usually we are replete with your slew of F1's and F100's but vary rarely do we see a 3/4 ton roll through that has had this amount of care taken in the restoration. This is an actual 2 owner truck that was purchased by its first owner, a central Illinois farmer new in 1954 and was with him for 45 years before he retired it to the barn. The truck was unearthed and shipped to Florida for the restoration work to begin. Under the hood the engine was completely gone through and rebuilt along with the heads, and carburetor. The F series line of trucks was introduced in 1948 as the 'Bonus-Built' truck. This was due to the simple fact that the new line was just that a completely new line. No longer were there trucks based upon a car chassis it was based on a completely new design. With all new sheet metal and a much larger cab the new F1 was an instant hit.
