The newer mustangs would be a little larger which meant Carrol would have to pack on some more power. The GT350 would be his no non sense car while the luxurious GT500 would be the pony car that had the luxury and performance compared to the performance above all else GT350. 68 would also be the first year that the A. O Smith company would begin doing the conversions and only for 9 months. Shelby America had not been up to par on there quality control; measures so Ford decided to see the A.
