The Model AA was the replacement for the Model TT in Fords heavy duty truck line up. The AA was much more user friendly when compared to the TT. The AA truck series was very similar to the new Model A passenger vehicles, sharing the same engine that produced 40 horsepower at a very low 2,200 rpm. The AA series was equipped with different gearing to take better advantage of the low rpm power band and making it easier to haul heavy loads. The downside was a lower top speed. Heavy duty equipment consisted of a four row radiator to provide better cooling, a heavy and larger chassis to accommodate heavy loads and over sized brakes for all four wheels.
