The Buick Roadmaster is an automobile that was built by Buick from 1936 to 1958, and again from 1991 to 1996. The very name conjured up an image of supremacy--exactly as GM intended and these highway cruisers were an instant success, with a competitive price tag ensuring that 17,000 Roadmasters were snapped up in the first year of production. In 1958, the Roadmaster was available in the well-equipped '75' version, and the body adorned with bulkier and more heavily chromed styling. A new 'drawer pull' grille was used, made up of rectangular chrome squares. For the first time since 1948, there were no distinguishing Venti-Ports on the front fenders.
