What is in a name? What would you call a car with enough power and torque to strike fear into the hearts of anyone within earshot? Pulling inspiration from people and rivals manufacturers cars and because Cobra was already taken, the Viper was finally named in 1991! While the platform shifted a bit and designs changed and engines upgraded over 5 generations the Viper would always command your attention and was easily identified in a crowd! Here we have a 2006 model a 3rd generation Viper which was introduced with a major redesign in 2003. Daimler Chrysler's Street and Racing Technology Group oversaw the build. The Viper became more angular and aggressive looking, and the engine was enlarged to 8. 3 L (505 cid/8,285 cc) that increased output to 500 hp (370 kW) and 525 lb ft (712 Nm) of torque. P. 283 CID, a hydraulic lifter version of the same engine that includes a dual-quad carburetor set up atop an aluminum intake with the famed Corvette finned valve covers. The Hurst Olds was a package first introduce in 1969 as an extra high performance muscle Machine built on the bones of the already raucous 442. For 1969 the Hurst Olds featured a White and Gold color scheme (Cameo white, with Firefrost Gold stripes). One very noticeable feature were the mailbox hood scoops mounted towards the leading edge of the hood. Research showed that the scoops mounted further back near the center of the hood were highly inefficient. The air would hit the front of the car and shoot right over the mid mounted air inlets. This new design was fully functional and added a lot of cold air right into the carburetor. Cold air is dense air, more power! As you may have guessed the car is equipped with a his & hers dual gated Hurst shifter, built to take hard shifts and stay in the gas or cruise around gently in Drive.
