The Monte Carlo is a two-door coupe manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet from 1970 to 2007. Chevrolet marketed the Monte Carlo as a personal luxury car, with the last generation classified as a full-sized coup. The car was named for the city Monte Carlo in the Principality of Monaco. For 1977 a revised front grille with smaller segments with the Monte Carlo 'Knight's Crest' emblem moved to a stand-up hood ornament and revised taillight lenses marked the 1977 Monte Carlo, which was the last year for the 1973-vintage design. This one is shown in a fairly new 2 stage black paint job that was completed approx. 8 years ago & shows very well. The exterior trim, bumpers, & emblems are in good condition. The car sits on classic 15-inch rally wheels wrapped in white lettered BF Goodrich tires that have plenty of tread on them. Dimensions and greenhouse glass were increased, engine options expanded, and plusher trim levels became available during the fifth generation's production run. This was the final year for the first generation of the North American Falcon. This Falcon is powered by the inline 6 cylinder Mileage Maker engine that Ford designed to achieve a staggering 30mpg! The Falcon went on to be the basis for which the legendary Mustang was based. The Falcon Sprint was a limited production version of the Falcon which was nearly mechanically identical to the 1964 1/2 Mustang.
