1927 Hudson Super Six

View Description

Powered by its original Inline 6-cylinder engine, 3 Speed manual transmission, painted dark Blue, she is a sight to behold. one sign of the quality of this restoration will be when you close the doors and the shut with a positively solid thunk!

For 1927, the Hudson Super Six received a complete redesign including a new F-head engine, 18-inch wood spoke wheels (rather than 21 inches), and four-wheel brakes. The car was lower and generally more stylish, and power increased from 76 to 92 hp (57 to 69 kW). The lower-cost Model R sat on a 118 1? 2 in (3,010 mm) wheelbase, while that of the Model S is 127 3? 8 in (3,240 mm). Two standard bodies were available, a two-door Coach and a four-door Sedan. The Model O was also available with five different Custom body styles, made by Biddle and Smart of Massachusetts. The engine was updated in July 1927, with a new manifold and a different head design, including the relocation of the spark plugs and...

1929 Hudson Super Six

View Description

Painted in a dark blue with contrasting lighter blue to accent the body lines this elegant car looks as if it could have been in the Vanderbilt stable of cars. When it was new, this was a car that the owner hired someone to drive while they rode in the spacious back seat that measures just under an acre, kidding, no more than 1/2 acre. The interior of this car reminds me of theaters when I was a young man, the dcor, over the top opulence and the seats, overstuffed for comfort. These days we prefer to dive ourselves so the car has been modified to give the driver tilt steering wheel and a full set of Dolphin Gauges so you will always be fully informed at to what is going on under the hood. Now that I mention under the hood in this car when you lift the side curtain you will notice a modern Chevrolet V8 that possesses 305 cubic inches and is equipped with upgrades like Edelbrock intake, Carter AFB carburetor and H. E. I ignition. While this combination can be encouraged to produce gallons of horsepower, this set up was done more for everyday drivability and durability....

1927 Hudson Super Six

View Description

Joseph L. Hudson had a dream to produce a quality automobile that could retail for under $1,000. In 1909 the auto manufacturer, Hudson, debuted with its first model. Hudson was on a roll until the WWII hit and like all American manufacturers ceased production. An interesting fact, Hudson made many items used in the war but very notable that they made the Invader engine that powered the landing craft onto the beaches at Normandy. With the end of the war and not far removed from the Great Depression, Hudson, started back up working to sell to a hopeful buyers' market. Even with their success on the track sales slumped and a merger with Nash only bought a few years and in 1957 the name Hudson would be no more. At least their legacy lives on through the incredible cars they made.

Here we have a 1927 Hudson Super Six 4-Door Sedan! The Super Six models were designed for comfort and performance and naturally came with Hudson's known quality and reliability. An article from 1927 is included with this car and the headline says it all. 'No Difference of Opinion When Supremacy is so Outstanding. ' The second generation starting in 1927...

1947 Hudson Super Eight

View Description

This 1947 Hudson Super 8 was found in a south Florida garage stored since the 1990s. With a mere 24,820 miles (currently 25,587, 767 mi since rebuild), the Holy Grail Hudson exhibited the least amount of wear, tear, and deterioration of any antique car we have ever seen. The Hudson Super 8 had absolutely no rust, not even one pin hole. The original cover on the tailpipe was intact; the brake drums were uncut with mirror finish. The Super 8 was adorned with the original 1947 window stickers as well as the original dealer installed Do it in a Hudson bumper sticker. Hudson Motors produced only 5076 - 1947 Hudson Super 8's, with very few remaining on the road today. The Hudson is a number 1 condition car, and may be the number one condition among all Hudson cars in existence today. This...

1929 Hudson Super Six

View Description

Hudson Motor Car Company manufactured vehicles from 1909 to 1954 in Detroit, Michigan and later merged with Nash-Kelvinator to form American Motors Corporation (AMC). Hudson pioneered many first in the automotive industry, including a balanced crankshaft which allowed for more power out of smaller 6-cylinder engine blocks. The flathead 'Super Six' in this car is specifically a 288 cubic inch displacement and for 1929 was rated at 92 horsepower. The motor is paired to a 3-speed manual transmission with the shifter located on the floor and provides an authentic but spirited driving experience. It's not as slow as you might think! Onlookers are particularly impressed by the overall appearance of this vehicle, which has been repainted in Green and Black two tone. There's a lot of body to take in on this imposing Hudson, from the large cylindrical 'Parabeam' headlights up front to the spare tire holders, vinyl roof, wood spoke wheels and rear luggage rack. It's an executive looking car even by today's standards. The Hudson's Light Brown mohair interior was actually designed for owner operation rather than chauffeuring which means even us 21st century humans can learn to operate safely. Regardless, the back seat does have a higher level...
