These full-size, truck-based vehicles competed with Chevrolet Suburbans back in the day but they had something that GM's well known SUV didn't: four-wheel-drive. Although Travelalls didn't post huge sales numbers, they received glowing reviews from those who bought them- an early indication of the SUV craze to come by the end of the 20th Century. This example comes painted in White with oversized wheels and tires and comes with the largest engine option from that year- a 392 CID International Harvester V8. The motor has been rebuilt and comes with electronic ignition, a four-barrel carburetor, power steering and power assisted brakes. The 3-speed automatic transmission on this tough Travelall has also been rebuilt. And the owner didn't stop there- the interior has been re-upholstered with Blue vinyl but features the original gauges, steering wheel and dash set-up making...

The Scout II was introduced in 1971 as a replacement to the earlier Scout models. The Scout II was easily discernible from the earlier models by its front grill with three horizontal bars and chrome rings around the headlights. In 1977 International debuted the Scout SSII (stoft-top safari II) which was a stripped down off road version intended to compete directly with the Jeep CJ lineup. This special model included a soft top with soft doors, off road mirrors, plastic door inserts, special plastic grille and a roll bar. Starting its life out in California, this very original truck has been well kept for over 50 years! 1962 was the second year that International Harvester produced the Scout and was only the start to a great thing. The Scout was produced to compete with Jeep and had a few different configurations. This great example has the removable hard top on it that adds an extra layer of coolness in owning one.
