If you-re reading this, I-ll assume you know the basics of a Corvair and are familiar with the name Ralph Nadar. You may also know about the quadri-suspension that made these cars ride nicely and the rear mounted engine and transaxle that let you have a light handling agile little car. However, that-s all gone. Ralph Nadar should be pleased, as these were some of the features that lead him (perhaps erroneously) to the conclusion that the Corvair was -unsafe at any speed. - If you shared the sentiment, or perhaps just thought the layout was plain unamerican- then you might just love this 1963 Corvair! With this little bullet, the small displacement flat 6-cylinder engine was ditched right off the bat. Taking it-s place is a rowdy little 350 CID small block chevy V8. The new suspension was sourced in front from a Mustang II and in the rear from an S-10 pickup truck. This means the 4-wheel independent suspension is gone- Ralph is happy, and you will be too when...
