1987 was the final year for Chevy's little 'Sport Ute', which debuted in 1959. This bad boy features a familiar color scheme (especially for NASCAR fans), which is much like Dale Earnhardt debuted on his GM Goodwrench Monte Carlo in 1988: black top over silver lower, separated by red and black pinstripes at the juncture. Similar to, but still different from the 1978 Corvette's black over silver, it continues to be an attractive and recognizable color scheme. The paintwork on this ride is very nicely done, with nary a ripple (or any other glitch) in the finish. It really shows well! The real fun lies in what's been done under the hood, where the original 305 CID V8 has gone the way of the dodo and been replaced by a high performance 383 CID Stroker V8. The pumped-up mouse motor not only puts out some power, it looks good doing it. A big Edelbrock 4BBL carb tops the polished aluminum intake, while ceramic coated Hooker headers take care of scavenging the exhaust into the custom dual exhaust setup, which features stainless steel mufflers.
