The Thunderbird was released in 1955 as Ford's 'personal car'. It was not a direct competitor to the Corvette but with their similarity's it was very hard not to compare the 2. However, in 1958 Ford outted the emphasis on PERSONAL and grew the 2-seater into a full bodied 5 passenger car taking away any further comparison to the Corvette. There would be many redesigns over the years but 2001 would change all of that again with the release of the new, totally redesigned T-Bird and boy did they really hit the mark with this one. The styling was taken directly from the original Baby-Bird design and many say was the first car to have the Retro Styling. The 11th generation T-bird were made as convertibles with a removable hardtop. This is a 2002 model. The current owner obtained this beauty in 2012 out of Arizona and since has accomplished restoring many items. Some of the upgrades or repairs include a motor and transmission removal and rebuild, converted to 12-volt electrical system, alt/pulley, E brake, relay, fuel pump, voltmeter, fuel fittings, recore radiator, speedometer rebuilt with cable, axel shims, hose set, wire set, throw out baring, exhaust manifold, and so on.
