The Thunderbird was released in 1955 as Ford's 'personal car'. It was not a direct competitor to the Corvette but with their similarity's it was very hard not to compare the 2. However, in 1958 Ford outted the emphasis on PERSONAL and grew the 2-seater into a full bodied 5 passenger car taking away any further comparison to the Corvette. There would be many redesigns over the years but 2001 would change all of that again with the release of the new, totally redesigned T-Bird and boy did they really hit the mark with this one. The styling was taken directly from the original Baby-Bird design and many say was the first car to have the Retro Styling. The 11th generation T-bird were made as convertibles with a removable hardtop. This is a 2002 model. The black paint and black leather interior are in great condition as they should be with this car only having 15k actual original miles! Under the hood is the original 32 valve 3. 9L V8 mated to a 5-speed automatic with overdrive. This car is a real pleasure to drive!
