A 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Tribute!

The Pontiac GTO Judge Tribute is not just a muscle car, it is an icon. Pontiac started the muscle car craze with the 1964 GTO and its GTO led the pack with dignity from then through 1972. For 1973 Pontiac for lack of a better word - abandoned the GTO and proceeded forward with the Trans Am as its performance all-star. By 1975 the GTO was gone. The original GTO only lasted eleven model years, but its legacy continues to this day. This beautiful example come with the 455 HO and Muncie M21 4 speed and now has a 3:42 12 bolt posi rear. This is not a numbers matching car and comes with PHS docs. It features Edelbrock Aluminum heads and Performer aluminum intake. It has a Holley Carb, Hooker comp ceramic coated headers. It has power steering and brakes. It has AC but is currently not functioning.

Rewind back to 1970 - a year which most auto historians will agree was the pinnacle of the muscle car golden era. For GM's muscle cars it was the last year for muscle car era high compression motors.

This Green 4 speed GTO Judge Tribute is powered by a period correct Pontiac 400 V8 This 400ci 4-speed has a rebuilt engine, transmission, and suspension using Moog and Hotchkiss parts. Few muscle cars made a bolder visual statement than the 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge. 'The Judge' decals returned, multihued stripes appeared over the bodyside creases, and the 60-inch rear wing now stood high and proud on the tail. Some Judges also got a matte-black fiberglass chin spoiler. 'The Judge,' observed Road Test magazine, 'is not for people who are shy about being looked at. ' This Tribute has undergone extensive restoration and features power disc brakes and POSI rear end. Keeping her on the pavement are 15X7 Rally II wheels and BFG Radial T/A tires. In 1970 the GTO received a very noted face lift by narrowing the grill and replacing the hidden headlights with the exposed 4 light system. The best change by far for the 1970 lineup was the available engines. GM had put a ban on engines higher than 400 cubic inches for a while and now that the ban was rescinded there was an influx of high CID engines from Pontiac. This Granada Gold example is backed with the not numbers matching 428CID V8 that has just had a new timing chain and rear main seal replaced.
