1969 AMC AMX

View Description

The AMX was introduced in the middle of 1968 and was designed to appeal to the younger generation of muscle car buyer. It certainly succeeded in that, with a large campaign with Playboy enterprises and a target price of under $3500 the AMX hit record sales numbers right out of the gate. Our 1969 AMX is very original sporting a 390CID V8 backed by a Borg Warner 4 speed with Hurst shifter. Even the original 8 track is still intact and functioning with the Elvis Presley greatest hits collection included at time of sale. Options and accessories for the 69 AMX were limited and sparse but our example does come with the 390CID V8, Go Package, Hurst Shifter, 8 track, and Power steering which were top of the line in...

1969 AMC AMX

View Description

The AMX is a two-seat GT-style sports car that was produced by American Motors Corporation from 1968 to 1970. The AMX was also classified as a muscle car but differed from other American cars at the time because of its short wheelbase. The name AMX is an acronym for American Motors eXperimental, which was a code assigned to concept vehicles in the mid-sixties. With a short three-year production run the AMX is one of the more exotic and rare muscle cars. This one makes quite the statement with its gunmetal shade of gray paint covering the cool and vintage bodylines. Under the hood of this beautiful car is a 390 V8 that produces a loud rumble that will turn heads every time the pedal hits the floor. The transmission is a 4 speed manual which really makes it thrilling to drive. If you want a wild and powerful muscle car with unforgettable...

1968 AMC AMX

View Description

More pictures and video coming soon. The AMX is a two-seat GT-style sports car that was produced by American Motors Corporation from 1968 to 1970. The AMX was also classified as a muscle car but differed from other American cars at the time because of its short wheelbase. The name AMX is actually an acronym for American Motors eXperimental, which was a code assigned to concept vehicles in the mid-sixties. The AMX was also the only American-built steel-bodied two-seater of its time, the first since the 1955-1957 Ford Thunderbird, and rivaled the only other two-seat American muscle car: the Chevrolet Corvette. With a short three-year production run, the AMX was discontinued in 1970, and was replaced by the Javelin from '71-'74. This classic AMX makes quite the statement with its bright white paint covering the cool and vintage bodylines and the black racing stripes that continue the muscle car look. Under the hood of this beautiful car is the date code correct 390 V8 that has been meticulously maintained and produces a loud rumble that will turn some heads every time the pedal hits the floor. The transmission is a 3-speed automatic that shifts smooth throughout all gears. This AMX has...

As you walk around the vehicle you'll notice nice details like chrome bumpers, intact trim and SST badging. Take a seat inside and you're greeted by cabin quite luxurious for its day.
