The 250S in 1967 had advanced engineering that most luxury sedans did not. These included independent suspension and 4 wheel disc brakes. At the time of production Mercedes boasted that the 250S was built to outlast the competition. They claimed a 'unit' body with over 10,000 welds and an assembly process that included 48 lbs of rust proofing and 4 coats of paint. This Mercedes is Orient Red with Bamboo interior. The 2500CC engine runs smooth and quietly. The transmission is a smooth shifting automatic. The Mercedes quality and craftmanship is quite apparent on this German Classic. Mercedes claimed that the racing heritage that inspired this car would make ordinary drivers' great drivers with improved handling and braking.
