This is a fine example of a 1963 Impala SS finished in Autumn Gold with an Ermine White roof. The car has all the Impala charm. This was a stellar year for Chevrolet and General Motors capturing fifty percent of all vehicles sold in the United States in 1963. Even the Beach Boys Had a hit that year with their song ' She's real fine my 409 ' The car has period correct hub caps and radial tires. The car is very original and shows well, with an iconic 409 motor and factory floor mounted 4speed which by the way have just been rebuilt approximately 200 miles ago. The car does have Edelbrock valve covers, intake manifold and four-barrel carburetor and air cleaner. Although this car started out its life with a 283 V8 and an automatic transmission it has been transformed into a real performer. We get to see some pretty awesome rides on the regular at Gateway Classic Cars, but this rig is something else! This Double Dually began its life as a heavy-duty Silverado pickup and was intended to transport Bonneville speed racers for Ontario, California outfit Spectre Industries but ended up taking on a wild personality of its own. Painted in all Black, this pickup formerly had a Red/Champagne two tone paint scheme and was featured at prestigious events from SEMA to Good Guys, the Hot Rod Power Tour and even featured on the cover of 'Truckin magazine. The wheels are Brentz 22' all the way around and the rear has been tubbed to account for the extra width. Each axle on this vehicle is on independent adjustable airbags and the extended rhino-lined truck bed can be raised or lowered all the way using hydraulic operation. The chassis is also completely unique to this truck. Later in this truck's life, a Cadillac front end and taillights were installed to give a nod to the built motor under the hood, which helps this Double Dually covers some serious ground.
