These cars were some of the first sub-compacts produced for the American market. Built in England by Austin Motor Corporation, production ran from 1953 to 1961. Almost 95,000 were built and sold in the US and Canada. Originally made for Nash, they evolved with the company as they merged with other companies to form what eventually became American Motors. This little red and white hardtop was built late in 1961 and sold as a 1962 model, the model's last. Powered by a 1500 cc engine along with a 3-spd manual transmission, these English-made cars have a large fan base, because they are a unique part of automotive history and they are a ton of fun to drive and be seen in! The black and white vinyl interior still looks contemporary after all these years.
