The El Camino is a coup utility vehicle that was produced by Chevrolet between 1959-'60 and 1964-'1987. It was introduced in the 1959 model year in response to Ford's successful Ranchero coup utility, and was adapted from a two-door station wagon platform that integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body. This 1987 El Camino was the fifth generation of the unique ride and the very last year that they were produced by Chevrolet.

Accomplishing this feat is a high-performance clutch, lower stiffer springs by Eibach, adjustable camber/caster plates, and independent rear suspension with 3. 31 rear gears and some sticky rubber. Making this an early '65 is the 260 V8 as opposed to the later 289. The 260 was a carryover from the outgoing Ford Falcon that the Mustang ended up replacing. Some will argue a car being a '64 1/2 or an early '65. This one does have some of the typical equipment found on an early '65 or '64 1/2.
