This fully restored automobile can be seen at our Arizona showroom, located in North Phoenix. These up-market, air-cooled Volkswagens were manufactured by the German auto-giant from 1955 to 1974 and almost half a million examples were sold in that time period. The Beetle might have been the working man's VW, but the Karmann Ghia was the weekend driver- a sportier alternative if you will. This example is perhaps a step above the rest and was built by Motorworks Restorations in Colorado Springs, Colorado over a 5 year period starting with the body/chassis disassembled, stripped and primed for painting. It's hard to even look beyond the mesmerizing 'Candy Red Metallic' House of Kolors exterior color, which also has a black base making this Ghia look stealthy in low lighting. All the Volkswagen trim, bumpers and exterior accessories have been re-chromed or replaced and a clear plastic bra has been fitted to the nose to prevent typical road debris from damaging this exceptional paint-job. The Tan canvas convertible top features chrome strips and looks high class raised or lowered thanks to a color-matched fitted boot cover. A 2007cc air-cooled 4-cylinder engine is powering this fun VW, backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. One...
