The model designated Type 14 was successful right from the start in spite of its higher retail price. The price was largely due to the fact that the body panels were butt welded and hand shaped using English Pewter in a time consuming processed reserved for higher end automobiles. The results were a beautiful merging of Italian design and German engineering in a 2 seat coupe like nothing before.
