Powered by a heavily modified 377 cubic inch V8 small block Chevy bolted up to a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, this potent performer is capable of cracking off ¼ mile passes in the mid to low 10-second range! With an estimated 600+ horsepower and roughly 2700lb weight, trap speeds above 130mph are par for the course!
Inside the engine is all the name-brand parts you would expect to find in a street-legal monster like this; Callies crankshaft, Brodix cylinder heads that have been ported and polished, Eagle rods, Painless wiring harness, and MSD Ignition. Of course, throwing a big engine in a small car won't get you speed like this. Both front fenders, the hood, and the trunk are fiberglass replacement parts to keep the weight down. The interior has been stripped, except for the necessities to keep the car street legal. A 10-gllon fuel cell sits in the trunk, ready to take C16 and push it through the heavy-duty fuel pump into the Holley 750cfm carb.
Keeping the car safe for track use, all necessary components are SFI rated, a 10-point cage was installed, and a set of C-clip eliminators were installed in the rear axle. A set of ladder bars and 32" goodyear slicks make sure all those ponies make their way to the ground testing the strength of the 5.13 rear gears on their way. The front brakes are discs to bring this Chevy II to a safe stop. The full set of Autometer gauges help the driver keep tabs on the performance and health of the engine.
