This 1968 Chevrolet Nova is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The new 1968 Nova was redesigned alongside the Chevrolet Camaro and shared many of the mechanics and power trains. For '68 the Nova offered much more power with a 350 V8 with 295 hp and the mighty Chevrolet 396 V8 big block. The powerhouse 375 hp 396 was capable of running a 13.85 second 1/4 mile at 104 mph. The 396 V8 with 375 hp had an 11:1 compression ratio, a big Holley four-barrel carb on an aluminum intake manifold, free-breathing heads, and solid lifters. Few muscle cars could match the light weight Nova when packed with the power plant 396. The SS package added SS badges, a black-accented grille and tail and simulated hood air intakes. The SS was listed as an option package from 1968 on, instead of a separate trim level like before. This particular ’68 takes the Big Block package to a whole new level. A Crate engine 502 Big Block has been added to the mix. The 427 badges on the fenders will keep people guessing! The Gun Metal paint scheme with black stripes really pops on this old Muscle car. The old school stance strikes a perfect pose, and brings back the memories of these beasts ruling the streets in the early 70’s. There is a slight “Transformer†theme throughout the Nova, but it has been tastefully done. I’m just waiting for the car to morph into a really cool robot……. just hope he is one of the good guys! Inside, you will find a tasteful mix of black vinyl bucket seats, a later model console, with cup holders and a B&M shifter. The B&M shifter insures there are no accidental shifts into reverse if you decide to bang through the automatic. A set of Sun Pro gauges keep track of water temperature, oil pressure and voltage. If you are looking for a ready to go Muscle Car, but not spend a whole lot, then look no further. Options on this 1968 Chevrolet Nova include; AM/FM Radio with Cassette player, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, and American Racing Torque Thrust Wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial Tires.
